St Anne Hospital Foundation 2021 Gratitude Report

With your help, the Foundation has provided vital funding for hospital programs that are changing the lives of local community members. are also able to pick out a wig or headscarf to help them cop with hair loss. In addition to physical items that help to relieve patient’s stress, the Foundation provides transportation vouchers, grocery gift cards and rent assistance if needed so that patients can worry less about finances and more about getting through treatment and getting healthy again. The Cancer Resource Center is now a place where patients can go on their first day and feel comforted knowing that in addition to treating their physical needs, we will also take care of the whole patient and provide items that will help make their treatment and recovery easier. In 2021 St. Anne Hospital Foundation was honored to provide $15,000 to start this program and received another $10,000 in grant funding from KeyBank Foundation to continue offering these items to patients in need. Reimagining the Cancer Resource Center St. Anne Hospital Foundation recognizes the devastating effects of a cancer diagnosis on a patient and their entire family. Many outside stressors can impact a patient’s cancer journey and in 2021, the Foundation and their Board of Directors aimed to help minimize those barriers and allow patients to focus on their treatment and recovery. This was accomplished in partnership with the Cancer Center and oncology social worker, Sara Craig. Reimagining the Cancer Resource Center was a labor of love and now, in addition to finding educational resources in the center, patients also receive items at no cost that will help them during treatment. Each patient receives a water bottle to help with hydration, a new surgical gown if they are going through radiation therapy or a chemo port shirt for chemotherapy.
